PeaceWalkers depart Norwich and walk to the Naval Submarine Base New London.
9 am: Vigil at Rep. Joe Courtney’s office, 55 Main Street, Norwich. Activists will go up to Rep. Courtney’s office and deliver Veterans For Peace letter detailing how weapons sales to Israel break U.S. law.
10 am: Walkers continue on to Naval Submarine Base New London.
3:30 pm: Vigil at Naval Submarine Base New London, corner of Crystal Lake Road, Groton
6 pm: Potluck and evening program at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 19 Jay Street, New London, CT

Walkers and local peace activists arrive at 8:30 am at the Coast Guard Academy in New London to greet attendees at the 2024 commencement ceremony.
8:30-10:30 am: Demonstrate at McKleney Park outside the US Coast Guard Academy, Williams Street, New London
10:30 am: Walk to Soldiers and Sailors Monument and City Pier for a chance to reflect on the work of Electric Boat across the River
Noon-1 pm: Lunch at Soldiers at Sailors Monument on State Street
1 pm: Walk to vigil at Electric Boat Engineering Building.
From Soldiers and Sailors, walk down Bank St., stop in front of Hygienic Park to remember the 1960-1961 San Francisco to Moscow Walk for Peace which was first envisioned at the Hygienic Restaurant in 1960.
Continue down Bank St. to Howard St., left to Pequot Ave., stand by the entrance to the EB Engineering Building.
2-3:30 pm: Vigil and rally as people leave work at Electric Boat facility in New London
5 pm: Dinner at Captain Scott’s Lobster Dock

Monday, May 27, 2024 - Memorial Day
Walkers travel down to Norwalk to join the largest Memorial Day parade in Connecticut.
9:30 am: Meet in Norwalk at Veterans Park in Norwalk (42 Seaview Ave.) (If you are driving to the starting point, be sure to arrive early, as streets may be shut closer to the parade time.)
10 am: Parade leaves on 1.7-mile route to Norwalk Green, right in front of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church
Stick around for a group photo and possible picnic in the park!
NOTE: If you are bringing signs, the parade organizers request that you reference peace only, and not war.
